Micah ministered in Judah during the time of the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah had the opportunity to speak to nobility while Micah prophesied to the common people. Micah's prophecies complete fulfillment where for the end days, but everything said was relevant for them in their day.
Micah makes it clear; their full restoration would come through a man who was “from everlasting,” they would strike Him with “a rod on the cheek,” and He would be born in Bethlehem. (See Micah 5:1-2) Jesus Christ is the beginning and the End. Thus far, there has been partial “restorations" in Israel...
Micah said in chapter 6, verses 6-8 “With what shall I come before the LORD, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?” Micah was clear; there was no good work that could remove the guilt of their sin, but if they would repent and humbly turn back to Him, He would relent of the destruction and forgive their sin.
