There is obvious encouragement in seeking the LORD and walking in ways as you read about Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 17. There is a key in verse 6 that helps us understand how he followed the LORD; it says, “his heart took delight in the ways of the LORD.” It wasn’t just a Law to Jehoshaphat; it was a pleasure to walk in the way God instructed that would bring life and prosperity.
2 Chronicles 17:10 says, “the fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they did not make war against Jehoshaphat.” There is not a stronger "defense system" than the fear of the LORD than a nation that seeks God and has His presence in their midst. The fear of the LORD will keep away any attackers.
